Ohio Poker Rooms
Ohio’s relationship with gambling has evolved significantly over the years. In the early 1900s, Ohio was a hub for illicit gambling activities. The state witnessed the operation of illegal gambling platforms, largely run by organized crime groups. This continued until the 1990s.
The 1990s marked a significant shift in Ohio’s gambling landscape. The state’s lawmakers introduced legislation to legalize one commercial casino in each of its major cities: Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, and Toledo. By late 2009, this legislation was approved, paving the way for the establishment of these casinos.
