The history of brick-and-mortar poker rooms in Arizona is intertwined with the state’s gambling regulations and its relationship with Native American tribes. Arizona does not have any commercial casinos. However, its Native American territories support over thirty tribal casinos, many of which offer poker rooms.
It’s not illegal to play poker for money with friends in home games or to host charitable gaming. As long as there isn’t a “house” taking a cut, known as a rake, betting is allowed.
